Below are some shots of the Bascun Canyon just out side the city of Banos.  A great day trek!  For a larger view of any pictures on this site just click on the picture.

My good friend, Roberto, is a little awed at the "tarabita".  This is a hand powered cable car and a short cut to the other side of the canyon.

This is the Bascun Canyon located in the Andes Mountains of central Ecuador near the city of Banos where I've been wandering around for almost a year now.  As I add new content to this site it will become a sort of photo journal of my travels.

This is where we now live, a place we have named Margaritaville because the little Rio Margarita runs nearby.  It is located about half way between Banos and Puyo.

This is the Rio Pastaza River valley which surrounds our little Maragaritaville as seen from a trail up the mountain on the other side of the road.

Here is a view of our "backyard" here at Margaritaville.  The first little cabin we lived in when we arrived in Ecuador is in the lower part of this valley to the right across the river.  Home was about an hour hike from the road.  We've come a long way, we even have electricity now!

We are now planing a nature and landscape photography work shop to be hosted at Margaritaville some time in August.  For more information click on the link above to go to the "official" Margaritaville web site hosted by my good friend Roberto.

Thanks for checking out my site.  I hope to add to it as my time and travel permit until it becomes an on line travel journal of my adventures here in South America.  Stop by anytime!
